I decided, this weekend, that I might as well try out an installation of Linux on my box. I've messed around with FreeBSD quite a bit back in the days, but mostly as a server based software, and since I always let too much time pass between sessions, I kept forgetting valuable things. I've been meaning to set up a unix box for some time at home, but haven't had a good enough box to try it out on. Since gaming is sort of losing it's appeal to me (perhaps it's just a phase), I decided... why not just install it on my primary (and best) box. So I did. So far everything is working out fine. I've a hard time installing gfx drivers, but I got them sort of working... (ATI x1600 with Ubuntu 6.10 if anybody out there has experience).Â
It's nice to mess around with it again, but it's a little hard. Things are different than FreeBSD, so I'm a total n00b here :) Fun tho.
