Went to the movies today, with Rancor and Tessa, to see Narnia, the witch the Lion etc. etc. I've watched the trailer quite a number of times. Terribly fascinated by that trailer. It really did look totally awesome. A movie packed to the brim with massive battl es, colorfull creatures and splendidly played roles from all actors. Reality (pardon the pun) turned out a little different. The movie was alright. No, actually, it was pretty good. I liked it overall. But it wasn't... as good as I have expected. Granted, the trailer/teaser IS there to sort of lure you into the feel of the movie and make you like it before even seeing it. And in this case, it worked. The children didn't do as well as I thought they ought to. The effects were up to Weta and ILM's usual standards, and visually, the movie was second to none. Really beautifully made. But it just didn't carry it as far as intended. I found the plot to move quite slowly, and then all of a sudden everything was over with in 10min. I didn't like the pacing at all.

Otherwise a decent enough flick. I assume they'll turn more of the 7 novels in the series into movies. This one certainly left you hanging out to dry :)

The view from my windows... it snowed like there were no tomorrow yesterday (it was proved wrong when I woke up this morning :p). I took a few snaps out of my window, just to see what all the fuzz was about. It snowed throughout the day, and I had to go outside a few times. Fairly amusing, if it wasn't for all the giggling little girls, who toss 5miligrams of snow at each other, and giggle inanely about it. Tsch !

After figuring I needed a blog for myself, to chronicle my life in 2006, I shopped around a bit for a nice open source blog system. Viewing opensourcecms.org for a bit, and testing it out, I tried getting simplog, figuring a newb like me should have something simple. I had liked the look of serendipity, but thought it too advanced. So I downed simplog, and took it downtown :) Unfortunately, I was halted midtown, by something I'm still not able to explain. Sleeping on it, didn't help, and it hurt my back something awful too :p Anyway, I bit the bullet, and went with Serendipity, and I must admit, it was way easier to set up and configure than I had anticipated. Took me less than a full minute to do. And I was off.. blogging. Granted, I'm still a newbie, and there is a lot of stuff in the admin section I don't understand yet. But I'm posting, ain't I ? And that's the most important :) So I just wanted to take a second and send kudos to the guys over at www.s9y.org for a product well made :) It's cool and easy, and it get's me from A to Blogging :)
