A friend of mine, Alomina, tossed a link at me this morning, of an image. At first, I thought it was a drawing (yeah I work with 3D, and as such I just automatically assume there is no such thing as real life anymore :p ). I was impressed with the craftmanship, and figured it was very neatly made, what with all the little branches and such. After me actually taking some time to study the image, I realized it was a photograph of trees in a park, with a city at nighttime, as a backdrop. And I started to really take the details in. The light on the trees amazes me. Alomina told me, she captured the image on her way home last night, and I just wanted to post here, to acknowledge a great piece of work. The greens on the trees with the lighter green light cast there is a pretty amazing capture. Keep up the good work :)
I'm hosting the image myself, with full permissions from Alomina. Check out her blog, for more interesting comments on life, or view the full sized image in dalif.com's galleries, here.
Never get tired of watching

... a rerun of Seinfeld. I'm just ploughing through Seinfeld, from the very first ep, to the very last season finale. And hot damn, it's just one hell of a sitcom. I mean, it has pretty much all the ingredients a sitcom should have, and it lacks the elements that can often make a sitcom a BIT annoying. Things I'd like to call the "awwww moments". You know them... the time, usually towards the end of the show, where the audience, be they live or canned, go "aaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww" at something that's happening. It's just... GRRR. Seinfeld completely eludes those moments. The characters are well played. You believe they are like that in real life. 4 main characters, lots and lots of everyday life entertainment. We've been in many of the situations ourselves, it's so easy to relate to. It is, as far as I'm concerned, the number one sitcom of all time. At a very VERY close second, I'm gonna have to go with Friends. Yes, a lot of you eager readers may think: "SURE it was fun once, but it's OLD.. we've seen it all". And to a certain extent, I'd agree with you. I don't know why tho, it's just... that show appeals to me on a lot of levels. I guess I just really like the 6 main characters, and they do tend to get into some funny stuff. But Seinfeld is just... it's hillarious. I've always liked repetitions, and I can just watch this all the way through, and then start over again. Good stuff.
Another weekend

... done with. Two nightshifts after a week of work, and then another week after. It's a tough life, but hey.. it's what makes me able to survive, so I can hack it.Â
Nothing interesting really happened either. We always hope for a little fight outside, or the police dealing with people, or somebody REALLY drunk, falling on his face outside. You know, the usual drunken night on the town kind of entertainment. But besides a drunk dude, who had problems entering a pub across the street, and had to be picked up by another patron, things were quiet. Lots of sirens from policecars, but no action that we could see. So we played Diablo 2 instead... fun enough as such, but after 6 hours, when the clock hits that magic 5am mark, even that can get a bit sleep invoking. A bit of icetea to cure it, and then home for some good old fashioned sleep. Another weekend...
a cashless affair

I lost my visa card the other day... around here, a visa card isn't really a credit card as much as a debit/bank/atm type card. When you use it, within country limits, the money is deducted straight from your account, instead of being a monthly thing, as most credit card companies have. So losing a visa card here, means you have to go to the actual bank and present drivers license or passport to extract cash from your account. Losing that card left me in a terrible state of affairs.. I had little cash, and no means to get more, as the bank opening hours are in my work hours. Really clever! Finally today, I remembered my passport from home, and took the usually little longer Friday lunch break to go to the bank.
