Damn keys

I forgot my keys at home today... I realized it when I was halfway to work. Didn't want to go back, if Ranc had left already it would be wasting my time. So I just figure I'd walk around a bit after work, until he comes home. But no, my luck would have it otherwise. Today is the day where he's going out to eat with his work... so he's home late. Fuck it!.... I'll try and ruffle up a friend, see if I can hang out with him for a while. Damn keys. Left my phone as well. I dunno why I do that. It's like a brainlapse. I wasn't even in a hurry or anything. Oh well.
On a seperate note, I'm laughing my ass off from this clip. I mean, wtf...
Creating alternatives

I've a weird way of living life, always have. I think I've touched upon the subject on this blog here before, but let me sum it up briefly. I don't have attention deficit disorder, at least I don't think so. But I have hard time staying focused on stuff that doesn't actively keep me busy over a long time. Like school. Never did much work in school. I'm fairly good at talking my way out of stuff, so I managed well in the exams etc.. but I could've done a lot more. Sometimes it pisses me off, sometimes it doesn't. I mean, no use in crying over spilled milk, but a guy can dream, right?
Anyway, with my current work, it's kind of the same. I'm there. I do alright, but I have potential to do more. But I just don't know how to tap into that potential. My thoughts drift. And I'm not very good at the 9-5 game. In fact, I hate having to go to the same workplace everyday at the same time, and do pretty much the same thing. It just grinds me down. So what do I do? I try and toss a few more balls up into the air. And when they are there, I try to keep them in the air :)
An old workmate from one of the numerous hotels I've worked on came over to visit last night. He had some ideas, I have some ideas, and we generally seem to pitch them well to one another. I hadn't seen him in a while, nor had I suspected to hear from him, so I was well surprised to get a message from him. Pleasantly surprised. Anyhow, he told me about some of his ideas, and asked my technical opinion. Some ideas were good, and some were, as it always goes, bad. But the point was the exchange. And together, we ruffled up some nice ideas and projects between us. I'm not gonna tell you a lot about them here, but I'm sure I'll divulge more information in the future. I'll go as far as to let you know, it's something to do with television (diligent readers of this blog will probably have an idea about what it is). This friend has contacts that can make my project and more come true... if I work hard at it :) So we're back to the good old problem. I hope I'll manage it this time tho. This is a nice alternative to keep around, and could, possibly, tie in with my current work, if I angle it right. So I'm crossing my fingers.
On a completely seperate note, I'm installing linux on my main box today. Not dropping windows altogether, just creating alternatives. Toodles!
J-day rolls around

Or does it? Well, I had fun anyway. Let me give you some background. During the fall, we hardly have any holidays of any kind here in Denmark. Basically, from June and all the way until Christmas, it's 5day weeks. This means, that most danes embrace any excuse to get out and do something special during the fall. J-Day is just that. It's not a holiday per se, but it's a day many people look forward to with the inner warmth of a child before Christmas. So what is J-Day you might now be wondering? Well, it all started some time ago, when the great danish brewery, Tuborg (owned by Carlsberg, which I'm sure many of you readers will know), brought out a christmas beer, in danish, Julebryg (jule = christmas, bryg = brew). This beer was released on a Thursday, originally, and it was released simultanously across the country. 11:59pm, trucks would cruise around cities and towns, with happy Tuborg brewers in costume/uniform and nice christmas chicks handing out beers to clubs, discos, bars and what have we. To top it off, a shitload of merchandise, including but certainly not limited to, boxershorts, suspenders, hats, caps, gloves, tableware, misc etc. etc., was sold at the Julebryg store. People, of course, went loco. Anyway, eventually the day was moved from the second Thursday in November to a Friday, because too many high school kids and even people at different workplaces, were turning up shitfaced for class/work. So now it's the first Friday in November, and it's a perfect night to go out and enjoy an early Christmas spirit with your fellow citizens. And I was no different. Don't go away!

November 1st, and winter is apparently officially kicked off. When I woke up this morning, and took a look out the window, I was surprised to say the least. Snow. I hadn't expected it so early. Oh well, it seemed light, and I had thought it would stop fairly quickly. It didn't, however. On my way to work, I had to battle a harsch wind, and the snow. Of course my umbrella broke in the final stage of my struggle towards work. Fortunately it blew over to a nice chick, who was standing with her bike, looking bewildered. So she picked up the umbrella, and when I got over there, she started asking me questions about streetnames and their whereabouts. Uncomfortable as I am, with being confronted by strangers on the street, I think I managed to send her off in the right direction. Hep hey. On a not totally related note, I rearranged my room yesterday, and I'm well chuffed with the results. I can now watch telly from both my bed and my desk, and my DVD/Book shelves is moved to other side of the bed, giving me the feeling of more room in there. It's pretty nice.Â
I'll try to snap a picture out the window with me phone in a sec. Will post it later. Until then, toodles.
