Closing in on 300

I'm slightly drunk, and about as tired as I can get. This week has been bad for me, when it comes to sleep. I'm bad at the 8-4 game, never really getting to bed before 2am.
Went out for drinks tonight with Ranc, and just got home. Had to lie down for a bit, and I'm so tired, I almost didn't get up. I'm about to head back tho. This is the kind of time where I really miss having somebody to go to sleep next to. Just the feeling of having somebody next to you that will be there in the morning, no matter how hung over you are, or how tired.
And in order to keep the topic at least somewhat relevant, there's only about 14 hours til I go see 300.... I don't remember looking this much forward to a movie efter before. It's gonna kick all ass. ALL ass.
Goodnight my love, dream of me.
Work taking a step up

I've been complaining about work a bit on here before, I think. And with good reason (if I do say so myself). It's been about as much fun as a kick in the groin to work there the last 6months. And while it's still only beginning, at least I was assigned to an actual job the past week. One that was concluded for my part today. And the best thing... the people who were paying for the images loved them. They didn't have a single problem with it. I was amazed, and proud at the same time.
Jakob, my mentor in there, was doing the actual presentation. He's a good guy, but he has a habit of being too negative. I know he's joking most of the time, but when you hear your work is shit for the 5th time in a week, it still sort of gets to you. And yesterday, I had forgotten to correctly configure the cameras, when I send the pictures off our renderservers, so they were basically unusable today. Fair enough. So we had to go with the renders from the day before, that, while fine as such, weren't exactly how we had imagined them. But that turned out to work to our advantage. The people from the real estate agent were awestruck with the images, and the realism. I guess that's the cool thing about doing something that not a lot of people can do. They are almost always amazed by your work.
It took away a lot of the selfdoubt I, unfortunately, am prone to feel. When I looked at the images, I felt they were dull and boring, and just plain ugly. I didn't feel like I did them as well as I should've and that the others working there could've done them better. So hearing people being overly excited about my work, really gave me a confidence boost. It was damn nice, to be honest. And I couldn't help but feel a little gleeful towards Jakob. I never boast or gloat, but I couldn't help smiling and sort of wanted to say: see.. they did like them afterall. But I didn't. That's not my style.
I'll upload the pictures to the gallery when they're completely done. On a related note, I just got a note from my boss that I'll go up one notch on the pay-scale come April first. That's good news, if I've ever heard any :)
Rekindling... a true effort.

Doing my best lately to take up communication with old friends. I know I've talked about it before, but old friends to me are still as much friends today as then. Even tho I haven't spoken to some of them for 7 years or so. Went out with an old school friend last monday, and we had a shitload of fun. It was like we hadn't just missed out on 5 years. She's such a cool person, and it was great to hang out with her again. Also upped the ante, and wrote 3 mails to people I haven't spoken to in ages. Got a reply on one of them. You know, it's funny, but it's getting easier for me to pick up the pieces where we left off years ago. I'm trying as hard as I can to get friendships going again. I think it's the best for me in the long run. Perhaps give me some more quality in life, yeah? When you always have somebody to go out with and have a beer or two. Not that there's anything wrong with the company here at home. Ranc is as fun as ever, but if he's hanging out with Line or just not in the mood for beer (does happen on occassion), it would be cool to have alternatives. People you can call up, and they'll either have something interesting you can join them in, or won't mind coming around your place for a night of fun.
It's nice to know there are people out there. I'm gonna keep this up, and make sure I don't lose people again. When they're friends, it's for life here. That's always been my policy.

I've recently discovered a true gem in the urban warfare that is fast-food and off the street lunch houses out here on Northbronx, Copenhagen style. There is a LOT to chose from, and since I practically work on Shawarma Boulevard, going for something like that is the easy choice. I usually hit one of the supermarkets, and buy ingredients for a makeshift lunch of bread, cheese, meat and lettuce. It's good, but I hate having to mess around with all the ingredients, and leaving them in a bag in the fridge at work blah blah. It's annoying, and takes the fun out of lunch. Besides, I enjoy hitting the streets at lunchbreak, to take in some of the bustling life and daily comings and goings of the locals.
Anyway, to cut a long story extremely short, there is this one place.. The Little Delicatessen. Quite a small joint, with an extremely pink facade. They have the best damn pasta salads I've ever had. And I don't mind telling you, I've have my share of nice pasta salads. She does very nice sandwiches as well. And she's fast, efficient and clean. I dunno what she is, but I think she's ex-jugoslavian. Speaks danish just fine tho, no problems there. Had lunch from her shop 5 days in this week. Simply amazing. I urge everybody to go there at some point, and give her salads a go. The one with tuna or the one with chicken should be dragged to the front and put on display. Top notch stuff.
To find her little boutique, just walk down Nørrebrogade. She's situated not far from Nørrebro station. Right next to a hairdresser, and another good place, Divan. Don't miss out on her salads. I beg of you.
